Beginning on the Poweshiek‑Mahaska County line at a point near the S ¼ Corner Section 36‑T78N‑R16W, Poweshiek County (N ¼ Corner Section 1‑T77N‑R16W, Mahaska County); thence north following substantially the center section line of Sections 36 and 25‑T78N‑R16W to a point approximately ¼ mile south of the center of Section 25‑T78N‑R16W; thence in a northwesterly direction to a point approximately ¼ mile west and 900 feet north of the center of Section 25‑T78N‑R16W; thence northerly following substantially the west quarter section line of through Sections 25, 24 and 13‑T78N‑R16W to a point approximately ¼ mile east of the SW Corner Section 12‑T78N‑R16W; thence in a northwesterly direction through said Section 12 to a point approximately 700 feet east of the W ¼ Corner Section 12‑T78N‑R16W; thence west following substantially the center section line of Sections 12, 11, 10 and 9‑T78N‑R16W to the south corporation line of Searsboro, connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on an unnamed street at the south corporation line; thence northwesterly on said unnamed street to the west corporation line.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 146 in Poweshiek County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Iowa 146 begins on the Poweshiek‑Mahaska County line approximately 5 ½ miles east of the SW Corner of Poweshiek County and travels generally northwesterly via Searsboro and Grinnell to the Poweshiek‑Tama County line approximately 2 miles east of the NW Corner of Poweshiek County, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 146 and its extensions in Poweshiek County as follows:

Beginning on the Poweshiek‑Mahaska County line at a point near the S ¼ Corner Section 36‑T78N‑R16W, Poweshiek County (N ¼ Corner Section 1‑T77N‑R16W, Mahaska County); thence north following substantially the center section line of Sections 36 and 25-T78N‑R16W to a point approximately ¼ mile south of the center of Section 25-T73N-R16W; thence in a northwesterly direction to a point approximately ¼ mile west and 900 feet north of the center of Section 25‑T78N‑R16W; thence northerly following substantially the west center section line through Sections 25, 24 and 13-T78N-R16W to a point approximately ¼ mile east of the SW Corner Section 12‑T78N-R16W; thence in a northwesterly direction through said Section 12 to a point approximately 700 feet east of the W ¼ Corner Section 12‑T78N‑R16W; thence west following substantially the center section line of Sections 12, 11, 10 and 9‑T78N‑R16W to the south corporation line of the City of Searsboro connecting with an unnamed street.
